Job Description

Role: ServiceNow Business Analyst

The ServiceNow Business Analyst collaborates with the lead or functions independently to design, develop, and implement processes related to IT, GRC, Cyber, and Risk management. This role involves conducting comprehensive research and analysis to construct modules within the ServiceNow Platform. The responsibilities encompass capturing business requisites in the form of agile stories and conducting end-to-end testing of configured functionalities post-development.

Key Qualifications:

  • 0 to 2 years of experience in the design, transition, or operational aspects of IRM, GRC, and Cyber SecOps processes.
  • Proficiency in business analysis and the configuration or administration of IRM and SecOps modules within the ServiceNow Platform.
  • Familiarity with the Scrum Methodology.
  • Profound understanding of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes, including client requirement analysis and system design.
  • Expertise in organizational and time management skills, exhibiting the ability to prioritize tasks. A self-starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Previous experience as a Business Analyst with other GRC tools or platforms such as Archer, MetricStream, Open Pages, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate negotiations, resolve conflicts among project stakeholders (both clients and internal team members).
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills to critically evaluate information from various sources and reconcile conflicts.
  • Skillful at decomposing high-level information into detailed insights.
  • Proficiency in facilitating requirements gathering workshops and providing training to clients and internal team members.
  • Utilization of industry-recognized technologies to enhance the work environment.
  • Proven experience in effective communication across all organizational levels, including senior management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a ServiceNow IRM and SecOps Business Analyst, your responsibilities may encompass the following areas:

  1. Collaborate with business users to comprehensively gather requirements and transform them into business specifications, ensuring alignment with business functionality.
  2. Thoroughly document workflows and analysis outcomes, obtaining user sign-off on specifications.
  3. Assist the technical team in translating application functionality into application architecture, crafting a comprehensive business functionality requirements statement.
  4. Serve as the bridge between business directives, goals, and the technical team, representing the enterprise’s operational management. Manage expectations and define metrics for business satisfaction.
  5. Devise and execute test plans to ensure the proper implementation of business requirements and functional specifications, meeting ROI objectives.
  6. Grasp long-term business objectives and propose strategies for their realization, potentially introducing process innovations through appropriate technology.
  7. Aid the enterprise’s business operations staff in content development and materials creation. Provide recommendations for enhancements and identify new business requirements.
  8. Apply knowledge of system capacity to assess project feasibility.
  9. Stay updated on new hardware and software developments, suggesting upgrades for maintaining operational efficiency.
  10. Collaborate with IT application analysts and programmers as necessary.
  11. Analyze departmental production and redesign workflows if necessary.
  12. Develop, edit, and maintain operating procedures and standards manuals.
  13. Serve as a consultant for work measurement, system studies, or cost-effectiveness analysis.
  14. Offer assistance to external organizations to improve internal procedures beneficial to the enterprise.
  15. Conduct training sessions to implement new or improved systems and procedures.
  16. Conduct meetings across various management levels for presentations, reviews, approval of recommendations, etc.
  17. Exceed or meet the enterprise’s performance standards, especially in the areas of procedure development and analysis.
  18. Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
  19. Identify potential areas where existing business service policies and procedures require modification or new ones need development. Provide recommendations in these areas.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred education: BE/BTech, ME/MTech graduates.
  • Preferred certifications (not mandatory):
    • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (specific module: presales/microcertifications is a must-have).
    • Business Analyst certification: IIBA, PMI (PBA), or equivalent.
    • CISA, CISM.
    • ISO 27001.
